IAS Corp
follows a proven step by step procedure for product development. A
brief outline is below. One of the benefits to choosing IAS is our
unique open door policy in which we invite our customer to participate in
engineering reviews and meetings involving their product. This allows
them to keep up to date with progress and make changes to their product
if needed.
- Requirements
- Typically our
first step in the development of a product is listing the requirements.
In this phase we try to determine if there is a want or need
for your product, what features are required by the market, and
how much consumers are willing to spend for a product with these
features.
-
- Definition
- The next step
is defining what the product will do (sometimes we start with this
step). We first conduct an engineering review (customer included)
to determine the best way to proceed with the project. During
this meeting we will generate a Product Definition Document or PDD.
This document will serve as the outline or blueprint for the
project and will be revised throughout the development process.
-
- Research
and Design
- Next we begin
the Research and Design phase. This is one area where IAS
Corp really shines. Our R&D group is one of the best around,
in fact many large manufacturing companies use our R&D group
to identify and eliminate problems in their equipment and processes.
-
- Prototypes
- Prototyping
is another area where IAS Corp excels. Our machine shop is
stocked with the manufacturing equipment and machines required to
build your product. Our designers use the latest CAD/CAM,
programming, and circuit board layout software available. This
helps to speed up the development process and eliminate errors by
allowing parts to be assembled on-screen before actually being made.
-
- Build Package
- After testing
of the prototypes is complete, and everyone is happy with the design,
a package is produced that containing all the information
needed to have your product quoted and built by any reputable builder.
Included in this package are schematics, circuit board files,
mechanical files, program(s), graphic files, parts lists, programming
and assembly instructions, basic operators manual, and a working
model of the product.
-
- Support
- To help assist
with support down the road we maintain a copy of the Build Package
and notes from the development of each product. This enables
us to provide faster product revisions and gives you the piece of
mind knowing that there is a backup of your information available
if needed.
